SATURDAY FUSION

13 – 17 years
TASTER WORKSHOPS:
10am-12pm, Saturday 9 & 16 February 08
10am-12pm, Saturday 27 September & 4 October 08
Run every Spring and Autumn, Saturday Fusion offers a mix of drama, dance and lyrics for young people. Get to know other young people in a creative, fun and safe environment. No experience is necessary. Workshare Performance in our studio theatre Saturday 12 April 08 at 3pm.
COST PER TERM: £15

SUMMER FUSION
13 – 17 years
TASTER WORKSHOPS:
10am-12pm, Saturday 5 & 12 July 08

Join Second Wave for the summer and develop your interests and talents without any pressure. Try out a mix of drama, dance and lyrics and develop your own plays. You don’t need experience, just an interest in trying something new. Each group will work together more intensively over the summer holidays (additional workshops on Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-5pm) for a Workshare Performance on Saturday 9 August. Everyone is welcome!

Performance related skills for young men. Like acting? Interested in spitting lyrics? Work in a team to explore the real life dilemmas of young men and put their stories on stage.

A workshop group to inspire and support female lyricists. Like to develop your lyrical style and skills? Work as a creative team to develop material for performance for the Young Women’s Night on Saturday 17 May 08

TASTER WORKSHOPS:

A dance master class, teaching original hip hop dance styles, e.g. breaking (b-boy/b-girl), popping (boogaloo), locking (Campbell locking from LA). For experienced dancers and beginners, interested in learning classic dance styles.

Like helping to organise events? Gain practical and technical skills like front of house and hospitality, lighting and sound, graphics, photography, displays, camera operation, or help the actors backstage with props, costumes, make-up etc.

YOUTH ARTS APPRENTICESHIPS
17 – 24 years
Ask for an Expression of Interest Form for programme. From April 08
Part-time training and work experience offering accreditation for young artists and performers (actors, lyricists, singers, dancers and musicians) who are not in full-time education, training or employment. Gain youth arts leadership skills and accreditation.

CRITICAL ENCOUNTERS
16 – 24 years
7-9pm, Thursdays. Starts 24 January and runs January–June & October–December 08
A workshop setting where young people from Second Wave work with the tutors and the police to challenge negative stereotypes. Learn new skills, develop confidence and experience and get involved in the Symposium Event – see below.

SUMMER SYMPOSIUM
16 – 24 years
A series of workshops and performances hosted by Second Wave and TSG4 designed to create safer communities by promoting good practice and encouraging young people to tackle the decision-makers. A discussion forum for young people, the community, policy-makers, and the police.

How do I join?

Second Wave's year round programme is open to all young people aged between 13 to 25. There are always new events and workshops on offer. To join any programme call us and book for a FREE Taster Workshop.
The workshop will give you a taste of what’s on offer. You can try out different things, meet tutors and other young people.
