Youth Arts

We offer a year-round youth arts programme for all young people including drama, dance and lyrics workshops and events.

Shadow Games

Our acclaimed outreach project to raise awareness of grooming, violence and extremism.

Creative Leadership

Our leadership programme offers several pathways for young people to engage with wider community and gain valuable skills.

Educational Settings

Our Shadow Games Outreach Project has succesfully worked with several schools, colleges, PRUs and community centres to raise complex issues with young people in a safe, creative and structured way. Our experienced team of diverse facilitators bring fresh and balanced approach to debates and discussions. In these challenging times, our approach now includes socially distanced and virtual models of delivery.

About Us

At Second Wave we focus our efforts on strengthening the critical awareness of young people themselves – allowing them to arrive, in their own ways, at a balanced view of complex issues – and using drama-based skills to achieve this. Our youth-led outreach work includes: workshops, performances, community forums and debates which explore the power of ideas and the language.

"I just wanted to drop you a line to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the show on Saturday, it was great to see the three DG students in something outside school and to see how their confidence has really grown. I brought my two boys with me and one of them is very keen to join now too in the autumn. The work you do at Second Wave is fabulous, bravo!!"
Ian Paish, Teacher, Deptford Green
"Brilliant! A lot of youth are under peer pressure and some are lacking confidence. The themes of the play were very relevant to young people. Young people gain self esteem, leadership, empowerment and experience here."
Jasmin Bowen, audience member
"We enjoyed the whole play very much. The themes were very relevant. I think young people gain skills at Second Wave: like communicating, self confidence, working as a team, listening, acting and its character building."
G. Muchia, audience member.
"The cast was amazing! I liked the idea that our thoughts control us. I feel many people have faced the issues in the play. Young people are encouraged to follow and pursue their chosen career."
Mary Anne Bamto, Tower Hamlets
