McKie Jackson
18 yr old
Apprentice and actor McKie Jackson supports
workshops on Saturdays. "At Second
Wave I learnt different aspects of the arts
industry.As well increasing my technical
skills, Second Wave has helped me to focus.
The arts are competitive and I’m interested
in the business side. This year I began my
course at Kingston University. I am studying
Film. Since I was 15 I have performed in
full-scale productions, including Hip
Hop Opera, Don't Trigger and What
Does it Take, at the Albany 2007.
I am playing the lead in Swagga,
Michael’s Story (2009). I
started volunteering at Wave and went on
to become an Apprentice. It’s built
my confidence. I’ve learnt theatre
workshop techniques, street dance and Capoeira.
I’ve learnt that I can positively influence
young people." |
